Another royal photo flagged as being ‘digitally enhanced’

Another royal photo has been flagged by a major photo agency as being “digitally enhanced.”

Getty Images issued a warning note Tuesday over the official family portrait from Prince Archie’s christening in July 2019 showing the then-2-month-old son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their now-estranged royal relatives.

They include Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, who did take this image, unlike others she has since admitted altering.

A handout photo made available by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shows the official christening photograph with Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex (front, C) with their son, Archie and (L-R) Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Doria Ragland, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, in Windsor

Getty only said the stately portrait taken at Windsor Castle was “digital enhanced” — without explaining how, with the image showing no obvious signs of manipulation.

The portrait was taken by fashion and portrait photographer Chris Allerton — who bluntly dismissed the suggestion his image had been doctored.

“Load of cobblers. Bye,” he told the Daily Mail. using a British slang term meaning “nonsense.”

A firestorm of controversy began when Kensington Palace released a Mother’s Day photo of Kate Middleton smiling with her children. The photo was subsequently recalled by news agencies, which claimed the photo was “manipulated.”

Allerton’s photo shows a beaming Harry and Markle holding their then-baby son surrounded by their extended family — King Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Princess Diana’s sisters.

Getty did not immediately respond to requests for comment on what prompted the warning about the nearly 5-year-old snap.

It comes after Getty re-examined an image taken by Kate Middleton of the late Queen Elizabeth II with her grandkids in August 2022 and concluded that it “has been digitally enhanced at source.”

The focus came after the Princess of Wales admitted to editing other pics, including a formal one with her kids sent seemingly to halt rumors about her whereabouts and wellbeing after surgery — but one that instead flamed conspiracies.
