A summer associate at Sidley Austin has been let go from the prestigious law firm’s New York office after allegedly biting multiple colleagues over the course of her program.
The summer associate, who has not been publicly named, has been dubbed the ‘Biglaw Biter’ after reportedly leaving visible bite marks on her victims and roaring at them.
According to legal blog Above the Law, the behavior started early in the program at the New York City law firm and continued for weeks before she was finally fired.
The summer associate is accused of biting at least 10 people, including an HR staffer, according to an alleged insider text message that has since gone viral on X.
‘The bites were in fact not confined to one incident/event,’ read the message, which was posted alongside a photo of what appeared to be bite marks on someone’s arm.
‘Rather she was biting people all summer and nobody was reporting it for some reason.’
The alleged insider claimed the woman bit ‘summer associates, associates and an HR person’ and that her officemate began wearing long sleeves to avoid getting bit.
The same message also accused the summer associate of another faux pas of ordering a $2,000 bottle of wine at a dinner with partners and associates.

The tacky choice reportedly came up during her termination meeting as a sign of ‘poor judgment.’
As if the alleged biting and spending spree weren’t enough, the insider went on to say the woman was ‘apparently a «horse girl» who says «rawr» regularly.’
Since her firing, the summer associate is said to be ‘laying low at a Holiday Inn in Maryland,’ according to the viral message.
The biting was not described as aggressive, but rather framed as an offbeat or ‘faux-quirky,’ insiders at the firm told the outlet.
‘The Biglaw Biter started chomping away at other employees at «Sidley Gnaw-stin» – not in an aggressive, «we’re beefing» way, but more of a faux-quirky manic pixie dream girl crossed with the Donner party vibe,’ according to the insider.
The shocking behavior was reportedly tolerated for a time due to the summer associate’s otherwise personable demeanor.
But eventually the pattern became impossible to ignore.
The summer associate was ultimately dismissed from the summer program, according to Above the Law.
Sidley Austin has not responded to Daily Mail’s request for comment.
