Shoppers looking to save on an Anthropologie tank top can snag a strikingly similar one at Target for just $10.
The top from Target’s own A New Day fashion label features a velvety appearance and gives off the same, simplistic vibe as the Anthropologie product.
Called the ‘perfect casualwear pick with a touch of elegance,’ Target’s ruched tank top is a budget-friendly alternative to Anthropologie’s $68 maeve mock-neck shine tank.
Both tops are available to purchase in multiple colors and feature a mock turtleneck design.
However, the two are extremely different from one another, mainly due to their fit and fabric materials.
Target’s $10 Anthropologie dupe and Anthropologie’s $68 tank top are available in multiple colors – which one do you prefer?
The $10 Target tank top comes in five colors – green, black, brown, burgundy, and mauve.
It’s also available in multiple sizes from XS to 4x online and in Target stores.
Target insisted the top’s soft and stretchy fabric offers ‘cool and comfortable all-day wear’ that can be worn with pants or skirts.
Environmental enthusiasts may also enjoy this Target top since it’s made from 92 percent recycled material.
It’s also made with eight percent spandex, which explains why the top provides the right amount of stretchiness for all shoppers.
This fabric not only can provide comfort to shoppers who purchase the top, but it also passes off as velvet material.
Anthropologie’s Maeve Mock-Neck Ruched Shine Tank is available in green, light sand, blue, and mauve.
The Anthropologie tank top’s sizes are divided into three categories: Standard, petite, and plus.
The standard sizes range from XXS to xl, and petite-sized shoppers can purchase the top in sizes xx petite to xl petite.
The Anthropologie Maeve Mock-Neck Ruched Shine Tank is only available in sizes 1x to 3x.
Target is currently selling an Anthropologie dupe for only $10 online and in store
This Anthropologie top is sleeveless and polished, and more well-protected compared to the Target tank top.
It also doesn’t have a velvety appearance and is made mostly of polyester and elastane.
Despite the price difference, Target’s $10 dupe has earned rave reviews.
Two thirds of the reviews gave it five stars, or similar – About 67 percent of the nine Target shoppers who purchased the Ruched Tank Top gave the dupe five stars.
One five-star rater praised the top but wished it had ‘more vibrant colors.’
A shopper who gave the top a one-star rating said it was thin and ‘looks, feels, and is cheap.’
The unhappy top purchaser noted they liked the style but wished for better quality.
Shoppers who purchased the Anthropologie top either loved the style or disliked it because of the fit
The four-star rating on Anthropologie’s $68 top is based off 35 reviews, and 77 percent of shoppers recommended other shoppers to buy it.
‘This top dresses your look up or down! Received many compliments on it! I need more of this!,’ a five-star rater wrote.
Others had a problem with the fit based on their body types, including one five-star rater who wrote the top ‘didn’t sit well’ on them.
One Anthropologie shopper wrote: ‘Looks great on a friend of mine who has no chest. I ordered up a size to medium and it was not going to work for me.’
Last month, Target is slashing prices on over 2,000 items – ranging from snacks to toys and cold medicine – to attract bargain-seeking shoppers this holiday season.
This is the second time this year that the retailer has cut prices to lure in inflation-weary consumers as it looks to win customers from cheaper Walmart.
