A Bronx straphanger who held the emergency gate open for other riders was slashed repeatedly during a Monday morning clash, according to cops and a report.
The 37-year-old man was knifed all over his body when tensions flared with a blade-wielding brute inside the No. 4 train station at West 170th Street and Jerome Avenue in Mount Eden, authorities said.
The victim was holding the gate open when the violence erupted, AM NY reported.
He was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in the early-morning burst of violence.
The attack came just days after a crazed stranger shoved an NYU security guard heading to work onto the subway tracks in an unprovoked attack elsewhere in the Bronx, police said.
That victim – identified by her cousin as Lydia Zuniga, 65 – was standing on the northbound No. 5 train platform at East 180th Street and Morris Park Avenue in Van Nest around 1:40 p.m. when the menace silently approached her from behind and shoved her onto the roadbed, police said.
He later walked into a psychiatric clinic admitting what he’d done, cops and sources said.
The 29-year-old menace had not yet been formally charged by Monday.
