A millionaire London banker with ties to the British royal family who’s suspected of being the “Putney Pusher” — a notorious jogger filmed pushing a woman in front of a moving bus — has been found dead at home, according to police.
Nicholas Brandram, 44, a descendant of Queen Victoria who was arrested in June in the chilling 2017 case, was found “unresponsive” at his home in West London Tuesday night, the Metropolitan Police said, according to the UK Independent.
His death is being treated as “unexpected” and was not believed to be suspicious, the cops said.
“At 19:12hrs on Tuesday, 15 September officers and the London Ambulance Service attended an address in Chiswick, Hounslow after a man was found unresponsive inside a property,” police said in a statement. “Sadly, a 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.”
Brandram — reportedly an ex-senior HSBC Private Bank manager and former decorated British Army Captain — was arrested at his $1.8 million London home on June 15 after nearly a decade-long manhunt for the “Putney Pusher.”
He was charged with attempted grievous bodily harm.
Surveillance footage of the bizarre attack showed a jogger callously shoving an unidentified woman — sending her into the path of a double-decker bus on the Putney Bridge on May 5, 2017.
The bus driver then swerved just in time to avoid rolling over her head.
Roughly 15 minutes later, the jogger is shown passing again and ignoring calls for him to stop, according to footage. The 33-year-old victim miraculously suffered only minor injuries.
Brandram had familial connections to some of Europe’s royal dynasties, such as UK’s reigning House of Windsor, the UK Sun paper reported.
He was a grandson of Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark, who was the great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
In 2012, he was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal during celebrations marking 60 years on the throne.
Other details about his death were not immediately known Wednesday.
