EastEnders are set to air a surprise engagement for one couple in the coming weeks – and fans will be ‘over the moon’ that the couple are taking the next steps – again
It’s set to be a devastating week in EastEnders next week with a car crash that will leave at least on resident in danger. Despite all the sadness in the Square recently, one couple will soon have a lot to celebrate.
Love has been in the air in Albert Square lately, with Jean Slater recently proposing to Harvey Monroe. Unfortunately, things didn’t go her way when she found out about his affair with Kathy Beale during their engagement celebrations in the Vic. However, there may be better news for another Slater.
The BBC soap has now revealed that Alfie Moon will get down on one knee and pop the all important question to Kat Slater. In the first look pictures, Alfie can be seen getting down on one knee, with Kat holding his face looking ecstatic.
It all starts when Alfie comes up with the idea of doing a wedding photoshoot to promote their new limo business. However, Kat gets a shock when he asks her to marry him again suggesting that they can be the bride and groom in the photos.
In further pictures, the pair can be seen sharing a kiss and beaming with great big smiles as they lay down on the floor. From the reactions – it’s safe to assume that Kat says yes.
But, we all know a wedding rarely goes to plan in soap land. Will they defeat the norm?
Kat and Alfie have been one of the soap’s favourite couples – but their relationship hasn’t come without struggles. It all started when they started working together in the Vic all the way back in 2002.
They tied the knot only a year later, but things came crashing down when Kat’s jealous ex, gangster Andy Hunter threatened to kill Alfie unless Kat slept with him.
Although they find their way back together, they were once again torn apart when Kat had an affair and got pregnant with Alfie’s cousin Michael Moon.
A few more affairs and more breakups later, when Kat discovered her latest husband Phil Mitchell had cheated on her – she got back with Alfie. Could this FINALLY be the happy ending for the couple?
