A family friend of Chad Lowe said his middle daughter, Fiona, was heavily affected after they lost their home in the Palisades fire last year.
“Something happened when the fires happened,” music executive Mykesha Robinson, whose daughter Faith was best friends with Fiona in elementary school, told the Daily Mail.
“They lost everything,” she added.
Robinson said Faith and Fiona met on the first day of school at Palisades Charter Elementary School in the Pacific Palisades, California.
She said the girls were “two peas in a pod” and were so close they earned the moniker “FiFi.”
“Faith had a tough time integrating,” Robinson recalled to the outlet. “It was kind of just really tough for her.”
Robinson revealed their friendship blossomed after Fiona asked her daughter if she wanted to be friends and jump rope.
“They hit it off really good,” she claimed, adding that the late teen was a “ray of light” and “would go up and talk to anybody.”
After they graduated from Palisades Charter Elementary School, Robinson said the two girls lost touch.
However, two weeks ago, her daughter Faith tried to reconnect when she created an Instagram account and requested to be friends with Fiona. The request was never accepted.
Faith told her mom she hoped Fiona was “not mad at [her]” and hoped she “didn’t do something wrong.”
Robinson said since learning about Fiona’s death on social media, she has been in “buckets of tears over the situation.”
The World Music Commission founder told the Daily Mail she has not heard back from Fiona’s mom, Kim Painter, since reaching out following the young girl’s death.
Page Six reached out to Lowe’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Fiona died by suicide on Sept. 29. She was 13.
In a statement to Page Six, Fiona’s family said they were “deeply heartbroken” by the loss.
Last January, Fiona and her family lost their home in the devastating Palisades fires in California.

The following month, Lowe, 58, shared an Instagram post of his family returning to what once was their home.
“Almost a month after we evacuated our girls finally got to go back to see what’s left of their home,” he captioned the post.
The “Pretty Little Liars” alum said the way his wife, Painter, 52, and their daughters, Mabel, 17, Fiona and Nixie, 10, handled losing their home of more than a decade was “nothing short of remarkable.”
