Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce connected for the Chiefs’ first passing touchdown of the season in a key part of Friday’s game.
On first down with a little over 12 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Kelce caught a pass past the first-down sticks from Mahomes, going for 37 yards to the end zone to put the Chiefs down by two points against the Chargers in Brazil.
Kansas City then failed on a two-point conversion attempt and ended up losing the game, 27-21.

After the grab, Kelce, 35, had 47 passing yards on two catches — a total he finished the night with.
Mahomes took the ball into the end zone himself with an 11-yard rush midway through the third quarter for Kansas City’s first touchdown of the year. They later added a field goal, but it was not enough to get past the Chargers.
The Chiefs will get another crack when they take on the Super Bowl-champion Eagles at home in Week 2.
