And now there are three.
The signing of Odell Beckham Jr. on Monday was the big news of the day for the Giants, but not the only news of the day. They held a tryout with four wide receivers and ended up adding three of them to their roster.
In addition to Beckham, the Giants also signed Braxton Berrios and JuJu Smith-Schuster, fortifying a position by adding experienced NFL talent — albeit older talent.
Bringing in three receivers right now can lead to speculation that the Giants are concerned about Malik Nabers, who continues to rehab from an Oct. 28 ACL and meniscus reconstruction. Nabers a few weeks ago underwent a minor clean-up procedure to remove scar tissue that set him back a bit. He is not on the field for the ongoing organized team activity practices and last week head coach John Harbaugh said it is “just impossible to predict” when Nabers will be ready to hit the field.
