A neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley was evacuated Wednesday morning after an apparent explosive device was discovered.
Authorities responded to a call about a suspicious package in the Valley Glen neighborhood in the 6100 block of Rhodes Avenue around 9 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.


Officers went door-to-door throughout the neighborhood, asking residents to evacuate as a precaution.
No other details have been released about the device, including its contents, origin, or any individuals who may be involved.
The bomb squad is on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing, a spokesperson confirmed to The California Post. The evacuation remains in place.
