Jey Uso, Tiffany Stratton will win

WWE left itself two very different fields for their men’s and women’s Money in the Bank matches.

The men’s side is mostly main-event level talent, and by an easy process of elimination is a one-horse race with one significant challenger in the field. The women’s side is filled with performers looking for a career break that will consistently put them at the top of the card.

No one is in a more make-or-break spot than Jey Uso on Saturday night at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto (8 p.m. ET, Peacock).

So far during his singles push Uso has lost matches for the Undisputed WWE Universal championship, the World Heavyweight championship and the Intercontinental championship and failed to reach the King of the Ring final.

He feels like the clear choice to grab the briefcase and hold onto the contract for a while as he likely will get pulled back into The Bloodline feud this summer. Because if he doesn’t win, I’m not sure when he will get a chance to claim his first singles title in WWE.

You can give a logical reason why most of the other men’s competitors will not win.

Carmelo Hayes is way too early in his main roster career to be put in a top‐of‐the card story and his character’s overconfidence will need to be taken down a peg before he moves forward. L.A. Knight is likely headed toward winning the United States Championship from Logan Paul. Chad Gable is about to start a feud with The Wyatt Sick6, and if WWE believed in him, he’d be the Intercontinental champion. Andrade is the WWE Speed champion and it doesn’t feel like WWE has been positioning him for a push.

Drew McIntyre is the only other person who makes sense winning unless CM Punk returns to screw him for a third time. Giving McIntyre the briefcase and Punk thwarting cash‐in attempts could be a fun story device but not a needed one for their feud.

On the other side, the women’s field features many more possibilities, outside of Iyo Sky who just lost the WWE Women’s championship to Bayley at WrestleMania and won Money in the Bank last year,

Tiffany Stratton WWE

Tiffany Stratton feels like a clear favorite. The 25-year-old former NXT women’s champion is the most main event-ready of WWE’s young talent and her alliance with Queen Nia Jax already has her in the middle of the WWE women’s championship storyline. Giving Stratton the briefcase increases her star power and adds tension between her and Jax, who will face the champion Bayley at SummerSlam.

Naomi being so close with Bayley, connected with the audience and being a former world champion makes her the next most interesting candidate outside of Stratton.

The other women shouldn’t be dismissed and wouldn’t be terrible booking decisions.

Lyra Valkyria is a former NXT women’s champion. Zoey Stark has been groomed by Trish Stratus — who is now the host of Money in the Banks and could cost her the match after their on-screen falling out — and Shayna Baszler.

Chelsea Green would be hilariously entertaining with the briefcase and a fun swerve choice.

Despite some fine other options, Uso and Stratton fee like the best possible choices.
