AI for good: Experts debate regulation, innovation and global access

In this Euronews Debates co-produced with CGTN, an international panel of experts discussed the potential benefits, risks and regulatory challenges of AI.

The panel, which included Yi Zeng of the Beijing Academy of Sciences, Dr Amr Awadallah of Vectara, Srikant Chakravarti of Curio AI and Rose Luckin of UCL Knowledge Lab, discussed the role of AI in education, healthcare and biodiversity analysis.

They stressed the need for responsible development and global inclusivity. Key themes included the challenges of global regulation, the importance of open-source AI for less developed countries, and the potential misuse of AI in warfare and misinformation.

The panel also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in underdeveloped regions and called for greater public understanding of AI to ensure its benefits are harnessed for the greater good.
