Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell‘s buzzy new romcom Anyone But You has finally set a streaming premiere date.
Netflix announced in a post on X that the film will begin streaming on the platform starting Tuesday, April 23.
The film is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, and stars Sweeney and Powell as Bea and Ben, enemies who unexpectedly reunite at a destination wedding after their first date went terribly awry.
Anyone But You was an unexpected hit at the box office when it premiered last December, grossing $214 million worldwide. It also earned high praise, considering Decider’s John Serba wrote that we may be in the midst of a “rom-comaissance” with this feature and No Hard Feelings.
Hopefully, this won’t be the last we see of Powell and Sydney’s palpable on-screen chemistry. Powell recently mentioned that they were already on the hunt for their next collaboration.
“Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun,” he told Variety. “We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us all the scripts you got. You know we’re here for it.”
Their chemistry even spurred rumors that they were having an affair while filming the movie, which suspiciously coincided with Powell’s separation from his then-girlfriend Gigi Paris.
Powell addressed the rumors in a profile for Men’s Health, saying, “When all that stuff happened, you know, publicly, it felt disorienting and unfair. But what I’m realizing now is that’s just a part of this gig now.”
Now, the root of all of these rumors will finally be available for all to see. Anyone But You premieres on Netflix April 23.
