Deal hunters, listen up – the Amazon Prime Day sale is nearly upon us, with discounts on just about every product category, from beauty to home appliances and tech. True to form, we’ll be highlighting the hottest deals on our tried and tested picks – and that includes the best mattress deals Amazon has to offer.
Scheduled to land in just a couple of weeks time, the official Prime Day sale dates have now been confirmed. Set to kick off on Tuesday 16 July and run through to the end of Wednesday 17 July, this year’s event will be your chance to save big on everything from swanky coffee machines, laptops and much more.
If you’re hoping to replace a lumpy, uncomfortable or unsupportive mattress, without breaking the bank, Amazon Prime Day could be your next best chance. We’re hoping to see brilliant deals on premium brands that we’ve tried, tested and loved here at IndyBest (we’ve spotted Emma, Simba and Dormeo in previous sales, so it’s all to play for).
However, these deals are only available to Amazon Prime subscribers, so, you’ll need to sign up for a Prime account (more on that later) if you want to take advantage of the offers.
With Prime Day deals set to land next month, here’s what we know about the best mattress deals to expect this year.

When will Prime Day mattress deals start?
Amazon has announced it will be holding its Prime Day 2024 sale in July (it’s done this most years, so we’re not surprised). The sale will kick off at 12am on Tuesday 16 July and finish at 11.59pm on Wednesday 17 July, which gives shoppers two days to make the most of the deals.

You don’t need to wait until Prime Day to find a deal on a new mattress, though. Amazon holds deals year-round, so, it’s well worth having a gander to see whether there are any deals worth snapping up now.
Best early Prime Day mattress deals
If your mattress is in serious need of upgrading and you can’t quite wait it out until the Prime Day sale kick-off, we’ve rounded up the best mattress deals you can snap up right now.
Dormeo octasmart hybrid plus mattress, single: Was £599.99, now £401.20, Amazon.co.uk
The octasmart hybrid plus mattress landed in our review of the best mattresses, so it’s certainly up to standard, and, according to our tester, provides a lot of bang for your buck. Even better, you can currently invest in the single mattress while it has 30 per cent off at Amazon. In their review, our tester noted they “benefitted from the cooling technology during balmy nights”, while, in terms of comfort and support, the design improved our reviewer’s pressure points within weeks.
Emma original mattress: Was £449, now £381.65, Amazon.co.uk
Dubbed the best memory foam mattress in our tried and tested review, Emma’s original mattress is reduced by a respectable 15 per cent. Made of three layers of memory foam, it’s also suitable for front, back or side sleepers. When lying down on the mattress, our tester “noticed a distinct sinking feeling”. They also noted how it “helped relieve pressure on high-impact areas”, which included their hips and shoulders, while the low transference of motion meant their fidgety partner was less of an issue.
Silentnight pocket essentials 1000 pocket sprung mattress, single: Was £249, now £174.45, Amazon.co.uk
Opt for the single size version of this Silentnight mattress at Amazon and you’ll get a 30 per cent discount. This foam-free, medium firm mattress features zoned pocket springs teamed with fibres that are billed as being breathable. While we haven’t tried this mattress at IndyBest yet, it’s recommended as a suitable choice for those who sleep on their side.
Silentnight miracoil ortho mattress: Was £329, now £245.74, Amazon.co.uk
Reduced by 25 per cent in the double size, this mattress is said to help ease aches and pains by providing personalised support and better spinal alignment. The zoned support system will be helpful if you’re sleeping alongside someone else, while the overall support level offered is extra firm. It’s also hypoallergenic, which is worth keeping in mind if you’re someone who struggles with allergies.
Do you have to be a Prime member to access Prime Day deals?
The short answer is yes. Amazon Prime Day deals will be reserved for those who have a Prime Day subscription, but signing up couldn’t be easier. There’s also a 30-day-free Prime Day trial, but be wary that, once this lapses, there’s a monthly fee of £8.99 or £95 for a year. You can, of course, cancel at any time, though.
The mattress deals we expect to see this Prime Day
If previous years are anything to go by, we’re in for a treat. Last year, Simba’s hybrid luxe super king mattress (£1,129, Amazon.co.uk) was reduced by more than £130. You could have also snapped up a firm eco double mattress from Silentnight (£395.46, Amazon.co.uk) while it was nearly half price. Similarly, HiGrid’s premium hybrid smartgrid king mattress plummeted in price by a massive 50 per cent.
