Bill Belichick’s kids have some hesitations amid their dad’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, though in the end, they “want the best” for the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach.
Belichick’s relationship with Hudson has come under intense scrutiny in the wake of an awkward interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” that aired on April 27 and has led to a growing number of fans and some people closer to the ex-Patriots coach to grow worried about Hudson’s influence.
As far as what his children make of the situation, a new report by People gives the first insight into what that is.
“His children want the best for their dad but like most family members, they hope this is a good choice for him,” a source told the outlet.
Belichick has three adult children with ex-wife Debby Clarke Belichick, all of whom have followed their dad into the family business of coaching.
Amanda, 41, is the head coach of Holy Cross’ women’s lacrosse program, and Stephen, 38, and Brian, 37, are both members of the University of North Carolina football coaching staff.
Both joined the program after Belichick was named head coach in December.
Observers have been curious about the family’s feelings over the relationship between Belichick and Hudson, especially after Stephen’s wife, Jennifer Schmitt, seemed to slam Hudson’s handling of the CBS interview in a comment on an Instagram post.
The source claimed to People that Hudson and Belichick’s relationship “is real despite the age difference” and the couple “enjoy being together.
Hudson has had an increasing role in Belichick’s day-to-day operations, which has included operating as his publicist.
The ex-college cheerleader was described as “the kind of person who has a plan and is diligent about sticking to it, and despite being “young” she is “mature beyond her years.”
A second source told People that Hudson knows “a lot about social media and how things can create buzz.”
However, a different source described Hudson’s handling of his brand as “amateur” to Page Six.
“It’s amateur hour and it’s showing,” the source told Page Six. “They don’t know what they are doing and trying to control everything. They don’t trust anyone else. He’s handed off the ball to her.”
The source added: “She thinks she knows everything, like every other 24-year-old.”

Belichick’s relationship became public knowledge last June and Hudson has been more open about it in posts on social media.
The two met on a flight from Boston to West Palm Beach in February 2021.
