Rashida Jones, who stars in Black Mirror season 7 episode Common People, has had an interesting life.

Black Mirror star Rashida Jones, who appears in the first episode of season 7 entitled Common People, is being singled out for her memorable performance in the Netflix show.

In the dark dystopian series, Rashida plays Amanda opposite Chris O’Dowd’s character Mike and also stars alongside Tracee Ellis Ross, who plays Gaynor.

The Netflix synopsis for the episode reads: “When a medical emergency leaves schoolteacher Amanda fighting for her life, her desperate husband Mike signs her up for Rivermind, a high-tech system that will keep her alive – but at a cost….”

While the latest story from Charlie Brooker and Bisha K. Ali has a lot of fans talking, viewers are also wondering about Rashida’s life away from Black Mirror

In The Office, Rashida appears as series regular Karen Filippelli throughout season 3, delivering a memorable performance that left a big impression on audiences.

Her most beloved role, however, is probably Parks and Rec’s Ann Perkins, who is the best friend of Pawnee government employee Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler).

Angie Tribeca fans will also recognise Rashida for playing the titular character in TBS’ detective sitcom.

Rashida has also starred in several high-profile films, including The Social Network, The Muppets, I Love You, Man and Celeste and Jesse Forever.

Rashia Jones has been quietly dating musician boyfriend Ezra Koenig for almost a decade, with the pair welcoming a baby boy named Isaiah together in 2018.

While there was some speculation that the pair had secretly wed, Rashida clarified their relationship status during an interview with The New Yorker in July 2024.

She said: «We’re not married. We just kind of call each other that. But we are what we are, in the eyes of God! I’m sure we’ll get married at some point.»

Before meeting Ezra, Rashida has been romantically linked to Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire, whom she is said to have dated for three years before they split in 2000, according to Empire.

The publication states that she then became engaged to the Grammy Award-winning music producer Mark Ronson in February 2003, but the pair broke up approximately one year later.
