Brian Laundrie‘s sister has claimed she knew nothing about Gabby Petito‘s disappearance until she was contacted by police.
Cassie Laundrie denied telling police about Brian talking about leaving Gabby at a Wyoming hotel before he flew home to Florida without her.
‘No one from any family contacted me until detective Barry called me,’ Cassie wrote on Instagram about claims made by Suffolk County detective Tracey Barry.
‘Det. Barry gravely miscommunicated what I told her in the phone.’
Cassie, who has long denied having any knowledge about Gabby’s murder, also revealed that she has no relationship with her parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie.
Addressing those leaving hate on her Instagram page, Cassie wrote: ‘If you’re new here. And just starting to attack me today. I’ve been non contact with my parents for almost two years. Have fun.’
Netflix’s American Murder: Gabby Petito tells the tragic story of Gabby and Brian’s relationship, which ended with her murder and his suicide.
Brian strangled Gabby to death before leaving her body in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park, while he returned to North Port, Florida alone.

His parents have been accused of trying to help him cover up the murder before he went into the Florida wilderness and shot himself dead.
Christopher and Roberta repeatedly refused to speak to authorities as Gabby’s family desperately searched for her.
The documentary notes that Roberta wrote her son a chilling ‘burn after reading’ letter in which she said she would help him bury a body because she loved him so much.
While she claims the note was written before the young couple went on their trip, the undated noted left Petito’s family ‘sick to their stomach.’
The Petito and Laundrie families reached a $3 million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit in 2022.
Gabby’s disappearance on the trip and the subsequent discovery of her slain body on September 19, 2021 in a Wyoming national park became a national obsession, which continued during the weekslong search for Brian in a swampy Florida nature preserve.
His remains were found there in October 2021 and investigators say he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and left a note confessing to Gabby’s slaying, according to the FBI.

Gabby Petito’s killer Brian Laundrie used her credit cards to make it seem she was still alive
Gabby had been in regular contact with her parents and posted frequently on social media about their travels, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. The couple had a regular following before the murder mystery took hold.
The FBI says Brian sent text messages from Gabby’s cellphone to her parents and others in an effort to pretend she was still alive.
He was also charged with illegally using one of her credit cards before his remains were discovered in the Florida nature preserve.
The couple were engaged to be married.
Both grew up in Blue Point, New York, but moved to North Port, Florida, in 2019 where his parents live. That’s where they began the van trip that ended with both of them dead.
