Can Europe change the course of Israel’s war on Gaza? | Israel-Palestine conflict

A Dutch advisory body says European countries should do more to prevent a larger conflict.

European countries have been under pressure to get more involved in the continuing conflict in the Middle East.

Almost all EU countries showed unequivocal support for Israel following the Hamas-led attack on October 7.

But as its relentless pounding of Gaza carries on, many have started to shift, some even going as far as imposing arms embargoes on Israel.

The Dutch government has been criticised from within for not doing enough in response to the conflict and has been urged to join with other European countries in helping to stop the conflict from spreading.

How could that idea become reality?

Presenter: Cyril Vanier

Guests

James Moran – Associate senior research fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies

Emmanuel Dupuy – President of the Institute of European Perspective and Security

Lek Takkenberg – Senior adviser with the Question of Palestine Programme at the Arab Renaissance for Democracy & Development think tank.
