What is the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine?
This is an all-singing, all-dancing automated coffee machine that allows you to make any drink you can order at your local coffee house in your own home. Coffee machines make up a large proportion of the Italian small appliance manufacturer De’Longhi’s product offering, so you can be confident that a lot of care has gone into the its development.
The Rivelia has a few competitors offering a similar level of automation and range of drinks. The Melitta LatteSelect and the Philips 4400 Latte Go are two of the best in this price range, but neither of these have the worktop ‘wow’ factor that the De’Longhi offers. We wanted to see whether the Rivelia really lives up to its looks, so we worked our way through its extensive menu.

How we test coffee machines
We spend several days with each machine, working out exactly what it can do. We assess everything from how easy it is to set up out of the box, to how quickly we can learn how to use it and make the most of everything it offers. We rate coffee machines on design, ease of operation, variety of programmes, ease of maintenance and the quality and taste of the coffee.
