OutKick founder Clay Travis has branded iconic sportscaster Keith Olbermann ‘a d***head’ following his shocking comments about James Woods and the fires engulfing Los Angeles.

Firefighters are still trying to control a series of major fires in the Los Angeles area that have killed five people and ravaged communities from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena.

The fires have sent thousands of people, including A-list celebrities and movie stars, frantically fleeing their homes

One of the celebrities forced to evacuate was Oscar-nominated actor James Woods, who shared footage of a home two blocks from his property that was completely set alight.

He fled the Palisades with his family as the fast-moving wildfire tore through and is unclear what remains of his own property after the evacuation.

Woods also declared that he and many of his neighbors no longer have insurance after a ‘major company’ supposedly canceled many of the policies four months ago.

Woods revealed to CNN on Wednesday that he’d also helped his 94-year-old neighbor, who suffers with dementia, flee his property.

‘He’d been left alone,’ Woods said.

‘There was so much chaos, it was like an inferno. Every house was on fire around us.’

In reply to a post on X defending Woods after someone said his house burning down was ‘karma calling’, Olbermann claimed that sort of compassion was the reason Donald Trump won the election.

He wrote: ‘This is the attitude that lost the election.

‘They will not compromise they will not convert they will not be human.

‘They must be defeated – and any chance to bruise or batter them psychologically must be exploited.

‘Especially James Woods, who is a despicable human being, especially to women. There’s a reason he was cast as Roy Cohn.’

In reply to Olbermann, a former ESPN SportsCenter anchor who also hosted MLB on Fox, Travis posted: ‘What a complete and total d***head’.

Ferocious winds that drove the flames through Los Angeles and led to chaotic evacuations have calmed somewhat and are not expected to be as powerful on Thursday.

That could provide an opportunity for firefighters to make progress reining in blazes that have hopscotched across the sprawling region, including massive ones in Pacific Palisades and Altadena.

The latest flames broke out Wednesday evening in the Hollywood Hills, striking closer to the heart of the city and the roots of its entertainment industry and putting densely populated neighborhoods on edge during exceptionally windy and dry conditions.

Within a few hours, firefighters had made major progress on the Sunset Fire. Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Erik Scott said they were able to keep the fire in check because ‘we hit it hard and fast and mother nature was a little nicer to us today than she was yesterday.’

A day earlier, hurricane-force winds blew embers through the air, igniting block after block in the coastal neighborhood of Pacific Palisades as well as in Altadena, a community near Pasadena that is about 25 miles east. Aircraft had to be grounded for a time because of the winds, hampering firefighting efforts.

Nearly 2,000 homes, businesses and other structures have been destroyed in those blazes – called the Palisades and Eaton fires – and the number is expected to increase. The five deaths recorded so far were from the Eaton Fire.

Some 130,000 people have been put under evacuation orders, as fires have consumed a total of about 42 square miles – nearly the size of the entire city of San Francisco. The Palisades Fire is already the most destructive in Los Angeles history.
