Cole Sprouse and Dylan Sprouse were seemingly immune to Matt Damon‘s allure while filming The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
Cole appeared on yesterday’s (April 3) episode of Kelly Ripa‘s Sirius XM podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, in which he recalled he and his brother being “in set school” and being “obsessed” with playing World of Warcraft when they heard Damon was stopping by, per Entertainment Weekly
“One of the PAs comes knocking on the set school door and goes, ‘Oh, you guys, you won’t believe it. Matt Damon is going to be here today,’” he recalled. “‘His kids love the show, so he’s gonna be here in like 30 minutes,’ and I remember Dylan and I turning to each other and just going, ‘Ugh. I can’t believe we have to get off of World of Warcraft right now.’”
Noting that they “must have been 15” at the time, Cole remembered the crew being starstruck by the Good Will Hunting star, while he and Dylan had other priorities when Damon knocked on the door.
“I don’t know if Dylan and I even turned away from our computers to say hi,” he said. “This was how ridiculous we were as children. I think he came in and was like, ‘Hey guys. Wow, so nice to meet you,’ and we were like, ‘Yeah, yeah. Hey man. Hey, how you doing?’ and just went right back to the game.”
Nonetheless, Cole “look[s] back on that story” fondly, noting that “the whole ethos of whatever that was around [them] didn’t really affect [them].”
“We were just being kids and playing video games, and I’m sure if I ever meet Matt Damon again, I’m just gonna say ‘I’m sorry’ and it’ll be all good,” he concluded.
However, one star who could get his attention at a young age was Jennifer Aniston. Cole said he was “head over heels” for the actress while shooting “about eight to ten episodes” of Friends with her.
“I’ve said it a couple times before, but I blanked when she looked at me in the eyes,” he teased on Live with Kelly and Mark in January. “Like I completely lost all of my lines, all the prep.”
