Dave Portnoy blasts ‘lame’ Hollywood star for taking a Knicks fan’s seat at MSG

Dave Portnoy has hit out at Miles Teller for appearing courtside at a New York Knicks game last week, accusing the Hollywood star of taking a seat away from a ‘real fan’.

Teller and his wife Keleigh were spotted sitting next to fellow A-listers Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner as New York hosted the Indiana Pacers at Madison Square Garden last Thursday.

Unlike Knicks super-fan Chalamet, the Philadelphia native attended the Eastern Conference finals matchup purely as a neutral given he has no affiliation with New York or Indiana.

And Portnoy believes taking up a courtside seat despite not being a fan of either team was a ‘lame’ move from Teller.

‘You look at celebrity row… what was Miles Teller doing there one game? That’s crazy,’ the Barstool Sports founder said on their Rundown podcast.

‘How did he get [there]? He’s not a Knicks fan.’

When one of his colleagues claimed Teller and his wife were invited by Chalamet because they are friends with him and Jenner, he added: ‘Who cares? You’re taking a real Knicks fan’s seat.’

Portnoy stressed that he would never do the same if offered a courtside seat, unless his beloved Boston Celtics were playing.

He then continued: ‘And by the way, what do you mean Timothee invited him? They weren’t even talking I don’t think, and Timothee looked like half the games he had one ticket. I don’t think he had four suddenly.

‘I think that’s propaganda. I don’t think Timothee did.’

Teller watched on as the Knicks sealed a 111-94 victory in Game 5, which reduced the deficit in the series to 3-2.

However, the Pacers went on to win Game 6 back in Indiana and advance to this year’s NBA Finals.

They will bid to land the franchise’s first ever championship against the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Game 1 taking place this Thursday.
