Disney fans have been raving about a ‘terrific’ new TV series despite less-than-stellar reviews from critics.
Ironheart, that moves on from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is a six-part sci-fi series that follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) as an MIT student who returns home to Chicago.
The brilliant teen makes a suit of armor that rivals that of Iron Man’s Tony Stark before she joins forces with mysterious criminal Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos).
The first three episodes aired on Disney+ in June with the last three released on July 1 – and the series, which cost a reported $150 million dollars to develop, has received a 86 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fans who have already binged the mini-series have flooded to Reddit to share their positive reviews.
‘I love the show so far, the storyline is great… I can’t wait to see where it goes next,’ someone wrote.
‘This show is terrific. One of the better Marvel shows. I’d say I’m enjoying it as much as WandaVision and Agatha,’ another praised.
‘Magic and political side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe always is my favorite. I cannot wait [for] how Ironheart will fuse magic with technology,’ a user shared.

‘I’m enjoying it. I don’t understand the hate towards it,’ another said.
But the rave viewer reviews come after less-than-stellar critiques by film experts.
Mark Cassidy revealed he had ‘seen all six episodes’ and wasn’t very impressed.
He said: ‘I’ve seen all six episodes of Ironheart, and it’s not good. It becomes obvious very quickly why Marvel decided to dump this on D+ 3 eps at a time.
‘Can’t fault the cast, but none of them are given much to work with.’
The Guardian rated Ironheart an average three out of five stars and praised Dominique Thorne’s performance as ‘stunningly charismatic’ but said it was ‘slightly tiresome.’
Ironheart is based on the comic book character of the same name created in 2016 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato.
She first appeared in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 #7 as a 15-year-old super genius who was attending M.I.T. on a scholarship and, in her spare time, created her own Iron Man suit using materials she stole from the campus.

The release comes after it was revealed that Marvel ‘in talks with major Hollywood director’ to mastermind the hotly-anticipated X-Men reboot.
Thunderbolts* mastermind Jake Schreier is believed have been lined-up.
After the commercial struggles of films such as Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants half a decade ago, the X-Men are yet to make a return.
But beloved characters such as Professor X, Cyclops and Iceman could be set to grace cinema again in 2028 with a new movie reportedly in the works.
