With the injuries to their reeling starting rotation, the Mets are missing a guy like Jose Quintana right now.
After two solid seasons with New York, the 36-year-old lefty signed a one-year deal with the Brewers this offseason and is settling in nicely despite a shoulder injury in May.
“It’s been amazing,” Quintana told The Post. “The way it started, I got a little inflammation, little fatigue in my shoulder probably because [it was] a little hurry when I signed late. Now it feels way better.
“[To] be back, [in the] rotation and [we’re] a pretty good team — really talented guys, they always stay hungry, they want to play — it’s been amazing, [especially] the way we’ve been playing the last two weeks.”
