Government officials alleged that Mr Khan’s aides sold the gifts in Dubai. He has said that he legally purchased the gifts.
Mr Khan was also handed a three-year prison sentence in August on the same charge by another court, but that sentence had been suspended on appeal.
Mr Khan, a former international cricket star, had vowed to lead the country a second time after being ousted as prime minister in 2022. But two lengthy prison sentences in a week have thwarted his ambition to contest next month’s election.
On Tuesday, the former prime minister was sentenced to 10 years in jail on charges of revealing state secrets.
Pakistan has a long history of arresting former prime ministers or sidelining them ahead of elections if they are deemed to pose a challenge to the military, which has long held significant sway in civilian politics.
Mr Khan’s party says it has been targeted by a military-backed crackdown, with hundreds of supporters, party members and aides being arrested.
