Robert Jenrick has confirmed he would look to resurrect the Rwanda migrant deportation plan if he wins the Tory leadership race. Mr Jenrick launched his campaign with a speech in Newark this afternoon and said he would “hope to bring it back” if he wins power at the next general election.
Elsewhere, Kwasi Kwarteng, a former chancellor, said it was a “shame” and “disappointing” that Suella Braverman had opted not to enter the race.
