Giancarlo Stanton’s bat at center of bizarre injury theory

There’s a theory going around that Giancarlo Stanton’s bat might be the cause of elbow tendon issues, and while Yankees doctors apparently presume the theory is downright batty, it’s certainly making the rounds.

It seems a bat switch was recommended to Stanton last year. The recommender is no longer around the Yankees.

While Stanton is said to be feeling somewhat better following three rounds of painful PRP injections, he still isn’t swinging.

Ex-Met Pablo Reyes, a needed righty bat, has a fan in Aaron Boone and seems in position to make the Yankees. Oswald Peraza is out of options, which makes it interesting. One of them will likely platoon with Oswaldo Cabrera at third base.
