Mica Ven and Marcus Luther may not be on Gogglebox sofa anymore – but fans can still catch up with the couple as they take on a very different role. The pair became fan favourites during their four-year stint on the Channel 4 show before leaving in 2022.

While the mainly appeared as a pair, they were occasionally joined by Mica’s two daughters Sachelle and Shuggy. Marcus also has a son Shiloh Defreitas and the pair share teenage son Yash.

However, Mica and Marcus have revealed that they eventually kicked Sachelle and Shuggy off the show and appeared as a pair instead. «We had the girls on,» Marcus said. «All they did was fight each other.

«They literally argued and fought each other so we kicked them off the sofa.»

Mica added: «We got them off.»

It did give the pair more of a chance to spend one-on-one time together however.

«It was something nice that I can do with her where I could spend time with her and somebody was going to pay me to spend time with her – I thought yeah, no brainer. Loved it,» Marcus laughed.

Mica responded: «You wouldn’t do it voluntarily, Markey? You wouldn’t just sit down with me voluntarily?» To which he joked: «They’re gonna have to pay me to talk to you.»

Now Marcus and Mica are becoming an agony aunt and uncle for their new YouTube series The Labrish Show. The weekly series sees the couple answer viewers’ relationship dilemmas after finding that in real life, Mica was helping a lot of people as a hairdresser with a counselling qualification.

«Offline, I help a lot of people with their relationship dilemmas because what a lot of people don’t know is I come from a counselling background,» she said.

«For some of the less sensitive dilemmas, I’m like, ‘Let’s get a male perspective on it.’ That’s how the show premise came. From the Gogglebox sofa to the Labrish sofa. Gogglebox meets couple’s therapy with a drink in hand.»

Marcus added: «I’m the one that gives out all the good advice. I’m the reason why people are in such great relationships now.»

While it’s hard to be shocked after watching all sorts on Gogglebox, Mica and Marcus reveal that they’re given a number of spicy dilemmas on the show.

«We get people answering their phones mid-sex, we’ve got husbands on dating apps,» Mica said.

Marcus added: «Husbands getting caught with knickers in their pockets.»

As for what they want to do next on TV after tackling Banged Up and Celebrity MasterChef, the couple want to do shows where they can help people.

«Anything where me and him are able to give that real male and female perspective, coming from a couple who’ve been together happily for 20 years,» she said,

«Like the panel for Married at First Sight or a Love is Blind podcast. Love Island. Anything that involves relationships where we can come in and look at the contestants and say, ‘You can clearly see why that isn’t going to work.'»

The Labrish Show is now available on YouTube.
