A hearing on Monday for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to drop her dad’s famous last name was postponed for technical reasons.

The name change for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter “was delayed because the court did not correctly finish the necessary background check,” a source told Page Six.

Shiloh’s lawyer, Peter Levine, told us in a statement: “Unfortunately, the court was unable to complete the background check ahead of today’s hearing, so the hearing was rescheduled for August 19.”

The attorney added, “This is normal. Everyone undergoing a name-change request needs to have a background check conducted by the court clerk, and because of clerical error, Shiloh’s hearing has been continued to a new date.”

We previously reported that the teen is seeking to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

She filed to legally drop “Pitt” from her surname on her 18th birthday in May, and paid for her own lawyer when she filed.

The 18-year-old recently published a notice in the Los Angeles Times to announce that she was dropping “Pitt” from her surname, court documents obtained by Page Six showed.

The filing stated the notice ran in the newspaper on June 17, June 24, July 1 and July 8.

Pitt and Jolie have been going through a years-long, contentious divorce. A source previously told People that the “Ocean’s 11” actor was “aware and upset” about the name change.

According to California law, a person is required to publish a request in the notices section of a newspaper that is in general circulation.

The former couple’s other kids also have dropped his moniker in public settings at school functions.
