A young mother who refused to abort her conjoined twins is asking for money to fund their funeral.

Brianna Pereyda, 20, gave birth to Josiah and Isaiah at Banner UMC Tucson in Arizona on October 9, against the advice of local doctors.

The two passed shortly after being born, unable to breathe due to undeveloped organs.

Pereyda, already a mom of two healthy boys, posted the GoFundMe anticipating this, three days early.

There, she wrote that ‘even after all the professional doctors [warnings], she ‘couldn’t find it in my heart to end two souls.’ This came after doctors told her the two had no chance or survival.

‘In my eyes, they are still babies,’ she continued, before branding the soon-to-be late children ‘a blessing from God the Almighty.

‘They deserve every chance to live if that is God’s plan,’ she asserted, and ‘deserve for me to fight for them and to live.

‘I am currently making preparations with a priest and planning to have both babies blessed along with funeral arrangements and a church service.’

The then hospitalized mother-of-two went on to lay out her situation, explaining how she had ignored the initial advice of doctors after finding out about the twins’ condition during a checkup 16 weeks into her pregnancy.

She was told the conjoined twins had spine, body, and organ abnormalities, and that both had ‘zero chance of survival’ upon being delivered, Pereyda recalled – citing how once born, they would not have the ability to breathe on their own.

‘My doctors also advised to abort due to the high risk for me and my unborn babies.

‘I realized my doctors are concerned about me and the babies’ health due to it being a very rare pregnancy,’ she continued.

‘Big discussions at 20.

‘This was heartbreaking and unimaginable to hear.

‘My family is heartbroken with the news and is continuing prayers, hoping for the goodness of God to have the final say for my babies’ lives and for mine during this difficult time.

‘I am currently making preparations with a priest and planning to have both babies blessed along with funeral arrangements and a church service.

‘My heart is shattered knowing I have to prepare myself to lose both babies who are growing inside of me.’

Under current abortion rulings, abortion is legal until the point a fetus can survive outside the womb – hence doctors advice to abort.

The procedures are otherwise illegal – following the recent reinstatement of 160-year-old state law that forbids all procedures except those enacted to save a woman’s life.

The law passed by The Arizona Supreme Court in April, however, states that abortions are still legal if a doctor deems the situation ‘a medical emergency.’

A ‘Medical emergency’ is defined by the state as a situation where ‘immediate abortion care is necessary to avoid the patient’s death.’

Five months later, Pereyda delivered the conjoined twins safely, ‘knowing she would be their only source of oxygen until delivery,

‘When they’re separated from me, they won’t have enough oxygen to keep them alive for long,’ she wrote on the GoFundMe, which has raised $2,730

She proceeded to paint the pregnancy as a spiritual journey during this pregnancy, ‘knowing God chose me out of 1 in every 50,000 pregnancies to carry His beloved conjoined babies.

‘For what reason I don’t know,’ she continued, ‘but these babies deserve for me to fight for them and to live.

‘Asking anyone to donate any expenses due to me and my boys barely finding a home and getting financially stable these expenses we were not emotionally and physically ready for

A few days later, her husband Emiliano Hernandez posted to Facebook to reveal the procedure had played out as doctors had anticipated.

He first congratulated his beloved on giving birth, sharing photos of them still alive just before dying due to lack of oxygen.

‘Brianna Pereyda, you are so strong and I thank you for giving our children life,’ he wrote on October 9.

‘I love you so much.’
