This is the terrifying moment a rodeo rider was trampled by a bucking bull named Tsunami during a rodeo.

Footage begins by showing the man riding the stocky beast as he prepares to start the rodeo, which was held at the El Regalo ranch in Nacajuca, Mexico, on Sunday.

However, despite appearing to be in control at first, the bull starts bucking across the field violently causing the rider to hit his head several times.

The man then appears to be dazed by the blows and falls from the animal onto the grass.

The ferocious bull then continues bucking and buts the unconscious rider while he is on the ground.

Several cowboys desperately try to distract the animal before managing to drag the motionless man from the bullring.

Miraculously, the rider survived the attack and, despite the scary scenes, the unnamed man did not sustain any serious injuries.

The bull-riding event was organised as part of the annual festival in honour of the patron saint James the Great.

The bull was previously ridden by another contestant who was also thrown to the ground. Luckily, that individual was also uninjured, as reported by NeedToKnow.

One local said: ‘He was already sparked out before he fell. That’s a huge bull, it was obvious the guy would get hurt.’

Another said: ‘It’s art, applause for the bull. At least there was a good show and everyone had a lot of fun.’

William wrote: ‘I hope the bull is okay,’ while Juan remarked: ‘Karma, stop bothering these animals.’

While on the ground, the angry bull continued to hit him. Miraculously, he managed to survive the incident

This comes after a bull hopped the fence at a rodeo in Oregon in June, injuring three as people ran for their lives.

The Saturday night crowd at the 84th Sisters Rodeo was singing along with Lee Greenwood’s ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’ as the bull – named Party Bus – ran around the arena before what was to be the final bull ride of the night.

Videos surfaced online showing the bull lifting one person off the ground, spinning them end over end, and bouncing them off its horns before the individual was flung to the ground.

The Sisters Rodeo Association, based out of Sisters, Oregon where the rodeo was held, issued a statement saying three people were injured.
