Brooke Hogan’s husband lashed out at inlaws Hulk Hogan and his ex-wife Linda as he joined in on the public back-and-forth exchanges that uncovered the inner turmoil of the divided family.
Former NHL enforcer Steven Oleksy defended his wife Brooke, who he married in 2022, over her mother’s “laughable” claims amid their feud.
“My wife’s post was not a plea for attention, sympathy or even support,” he said in an Instagram post Saturday. “It was simply a response to the false claims that had been made about her.”
Oleksy referenced Linda Hogan’s rant to her social media followers that her daughter hadn’t spoken to her for nearly a decade — but did not mention Linda or Hulk by name in his statement.
“I cannot stand by and allow anyone to continue to hurt not only the most amazing person I am fortunate enough to call my wife, but also the distorted sense of power and relevance the media can sometimes grant individuals,” he wrote.
Oleksy debunked his mother-in-law’s claim that Brooke Hogan broke her collarbone during a “drunken fight.”
“The claim that my wife broke ‘Jane Doe’s’ collarbone was laughable to those who know the trust,” Oleksy said.
He noted his lifelong sobriety, outside having his first sip of alcohol directly out of the Stanley Cup as he celebrated with his Pittsburgh Penguins teammates in 2016.
“My wife will have the occasional cocktail or glass of wine, but neither of us has ever used drugs or any other substance that may alter reality,” Oleksy said.
The former Washington Capital revealed how Brooke Hogan wanted to buy her mom an all-expense paid trip to see a Stevie Nicks concert so the two could go together, but was told she already saw the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and doesn’t go to concerts anymore.
Oleksy shot down the excuse, claiming Linda Hogan has attended several concerts since the invitation was made.
The ongoing internet drama took off when Linda Hogan accused Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, of creating rifts in the family, which led to their daughter severing contact and excluding the parents from her wedding.
The younger Hogan responded to her mother’s claims, saying her father wasn’t all to blame and the problems she had with him weren’t the reasons he didn’t talk to her mother.
Linda Hogan returned the exchange again, this time calling out her daughter as a “narcissist” and making the broken collarbone claim while doubling down that she never met Oleksy.
Brooke and Olesky married in a secret ceremony in Florida with a minimal guest list.
“As for the idea that we married without anyone knowing, that was never our intention,” Oleksy said.
“Unfortunately, it was the only viable option when another party involved said, ‘I don’t do weddings or funerals anymore,’ which is perplexing, considering that same person has attended multiple weddings since then, and even had a wedding of their own,” he added, seemingly referencing Hulk Hogan’s third wedding in 2023.
Oleksy went on to show his wife’s “true character” claiming she had attempted to do heartful acts for her mother, including wanting to watch a sunset in exchange for a home renovation.
He backed his wife’s “humbling” of herself by supporting herself in building her own interior design firm in Nashville without the help of the Hogan family name.
“Her actions are never driven by financial gain or a desire for others to fill her cup, but rather a relentless commitment to doing the right thing for the right reasons,” Oleksy said. “She is the truest, most genuine person many have ever met and loves so hard, that most it hurts.”
Brooke Hogan attempted to put the family feud behind her making a final statement in the ongoing drama.
“You lied to people so they would hate me. I lied to people so they would like you. We are not the same,” Brooke wrote on her Instagram Stories Saturday night.
She followed up with a post of Oleksy and herself and her twin infants captioned “Back to R E A L I T Y.”
