An Indiana man stole a liquor delivery truck from a bar parking lot to sell the booze to pay off his drug debts, according to police.
Beau Burchel, 39, was sitting in his car when he saw the box truck pull up to Cheers Bar in Muncie on Thursday morning and decided he would take it and its $12,000 haul of beer and liquor, Fox59 reported.
After the truck was reported stolen, Muncie police later located the truck in a cornfield behind a banquet hall about two miles away, cops said.

There, they spotted Burchel’s ponytail waving in the wind as he ran into the woods near the edge of the field. He was eventually found under a bush and taken into custody.
Burchel admitted to swiping the truck and said he planned to unload the booze to pay off his drug debts.
In addition to the truck, worth an estimated $50,000, cops found a skid steer loader, worth about $60,000, that was also reported earlier in the day.
Burchel also fessed up to stealing the skid steer and cutting off its GPS unit.

The inside of the truck was damaged by Burchel ripping out the camera and GPS system. All of the liquor and beer was still on the truck.
He was charged with several felony theft charges and held on a $20,000 bond, jail records show.
