A Texas influencer faces backlash for flying 1,600 miles to New York City for a five-hour trip just to try a Caesar salad wrap he could have easily gotten at home.
Leo Skepi, 26, of Carrollton, decided to take a spontaneous ‘adult field trip’ with his sister and cousin to try Lenwich in New York City, a local sandwich chain, after a group call.
‘If I flew to New York tomorrow for a sandwich, how f**king stupid is that?’ Skepi asked his 1.1 million Instagram followers in a video on Monday night. ‘It ain’t even my idea, but kinda.
‘My sister was talking about Lenwich. If you know about Lenwich, you know why I’m considering.’
He’s referring to the recent popularization of the chain’s Chicken Caesar Wrap and its Picante Chicken Caesar Wrap, which retails for $13.99, according to its online menu.
The only difference between the two is that the latter has a Picante Caesar dressing, which is spicier than the normal dressing, and jalapeños.
Both sandwiches feature grilled chicken breast, parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce, croutons and a Caesar dressing, and they aren’t exactly revolutionary wraps, let alone a Big Apple exclusive.
But New York City-based TikTokers on the hunt for the best Chicken Caesar wrap would tell you otherwise as droves of influencers have flocked to the chain to enjoy the massive menu option.

He also brought several sandwiches home with him in his carry-on bag
However, not every New Yorker would say the basic sandwich was worth flying across country for.
‘Babe! Not for Lenwich!’ one wrote on Instagram.
‘Lenwich???!!!!’ a local cookie shop added. ‘There are way better sandwich places in NYC!’
‘Lenwich is so overrated,’ a third person wrote.
‘For Lenwich? Hell nah,’ another commenter said.
One person criticized how expensive the trip must have been, while a DailyMail.com estimate clocked the ‘field trip’ at costing anywhere between $1,300 and $2,600 for the three of them.
‘Example of: «I make baaad financial decisions.» #adultmoneyproblems,’ they wrote.
Another agreed, writing: ‘Help me be financially able to take a sandwich flight [please].’

Despite the warnings, enough influencers convinced Skepi the trip would be worth it, as he quickly booked three flights from Dallas to the City That Never Sleeps for the next day.
‘There’s one that lands at noon and another flight that leaves New York at 5pm, so we’d have enough time to leave the airport, get the little chicken salad wrap, whatever the f**k, get a bunch of them, and then get back on the plane and go home,’ he said in the video.
‘Everyone get your permission slip!’ he cheered. ‘That’s an adult field trip, but I’m telling myself that it’s for my sister. I’m going to do it for her. I’m just going to go.
‘That’s fun though! Yeah, memory!’ he continued. ‘It’s worth it. It’s for my sister… F**k it, let’s book it.’
In several follow-up videos, the influencer, who used to live in Los Angeles, said he was ‘kicking his feet’ and was ‘so excited’ ahead of his 7am flight and even chose a good outfit – all-black in prime New York fashion – to ‘look cute for my sandwich.’
Armed with a Louis Vuitton duffle bag, his sister, and his cousin, the trio took off on a Delta flight from Dallas to New York City.
‘We just pulled up at the mother f**king restaurant,’ he excitedly told the camera as he showed off the Lenwich store, located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.
The trio ordered at least 10 sandwiches, as seven appeared on the table when Skepi reviewed the food and at least four were brought home in a duffle bag, his Instagram account showed.

The group ordered at least two Caesar wraps – at least one regular and one picante – two Lenwich sandwiches, at least one Chimichurri, and a box of fries. It is unknown what the other sandwiches they purchased were, but the four they took home appeared to be wraps.
He excitedly unwrapped the Caesar and Picante wraps – which he modified to have no croutons – and dug in.
Although he didn’t taste much of a difference, he said: ‘It’s good though.’
‘If you come, get the classic one,’ he told his fans.
Skepi rated the fries a ’10 out of 10,’ while the Lenwich – which features pastrami, corned beef, swiss cheese, coleslaw and thousand island dressing – left him speechless.
He even loved the sandwiches so much that he immediately dug into one the second he got into the car to go home from the Dallas airport.
‘How the f**k is it still good?’ he asked. ‘Ten, ten, ten, all across the board.’
