Beachgoers filmed the frightening moment a huge shark swam very near screaming children in the waters of Hadera, Israel just before the predator attacked a man
This is the terrifying moment a huge shark was filmed swimming between children’s legs in the sea – just moments before mauling a diver to death. The huge beast was seen casually passing between kids in Hadera, Israel, in the shallow waters as stunned beachgoers watched on. The frightened children screamed in horror as they watched the huge shark apparently size them up. While some beachgoers appeared to be happy to stay and watch the predators, none of the adults came to the children’s safety.

Just moments later, the shark was seen attacking a man by the Orot Rabin power station. The man thrashed around briefly, before the sea suddenly turned a frightening red as he appeared to be bitten. Onlookers watched on in horror from the beach as fins and limbs splashed around.
People on the beach filmed the shocking incident on their mobile phones as they watched on in horror. One man could be heard exclaiming, “Wow, wow, he’s with the shark, he’s fighting him,” as the man was seen in the distance. “They’re eating him, eating the man… Can’t see him.”
A beachgoer who called the emergency services told them, “There’s someone here that a shark has bitten. He’s screaming, ‘Help!’ He’s in the sea at Hadera. He’s drowning.” She added: “He’s in the sea. Nobody’s coming to save him.”
“Do you still see the man?” the operator asked. “Do you have eye contact with him.” And she added: “No, I can’t see him.”
Another beachgoer said the man screamed: “They’re biting me,” and waved his hands in the air.” Soon after that, she said, the sharks dragged him further out to sea.
Meanwhile, a horrified eyewitness told local media they saw the shark thrashing around in the water before suddenly noticing the «chilling» attack.
The unnamed eyewitness said: «I went to the beach with friends. We were about to go in when we saw someone thrashing in the water – we saw him struggling with a shark and trying to escape.
«The shark lunged at him. It was hard to watch. It was chilling, really terrifying.
«We could actually see the shark attacking him. I don’t understand how they haven’t closed a beach with sharks in it. That could’ve easily been me. All of us are traumatised.”
The frightening incident took place in an area of the beach where swimming was already prohibited, according to Israel Nature and Parks Authority.
It stated: “The Authority reiterates its warning against interacting with sharks and once again calls on the public to avoid approaching them, as they are protected animals.”
A police spokesperson urged people to stay away from the beach, adding: «A short time ago, police officers from the Hadera station were dispatched following a report from citizens who claimed to have seen a shark attacking a diver in the water.
«We will continue to update according to developments. We call on the public travelling in the area to avoid entering the water and coming into contact with the sharks.» Officers confirmed the search for the missing man is still under way.
