Israeli Air Force Strikes Central Beirut, Killing Three PFLP Leaders

Earlier, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) said that it hit dozens of what it claimed were targets belonging to the Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah.

At least 105 people were killed in Lebanon on Sunday as a result of Israeli strikes on the country’s territory, Reuters reported citing the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Later, the IDF said it was striking Hezbollah targets in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, about 35 mi (56 km) northeast of Beirut.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has reported the death of three of its leaders as a result of an Israeli strike on Beirut. According to the group’s statement, Mohammed Abdel Aal, Emad Odeh, and Abdel Rahman Abdel Aal were killed in the attack.

Mohammed Abdel Aal was a member of the political bureau of the front and the head of the Military Security Department.

Emad Odeh was described as the «military leader» of the Military Department of the Front.

Abdel Rahman Abdel Aal’s station was not listed in the statement, but was described as a «heroic leader.»

On Friday, Israel assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an air strike that also flattened several residential buildings.
