ITV launched a brand new quiz show on Saturday night (6 September) as Win Win with People’s Postcode Lottery broadcast its inaugural episode.

Billed as an «interactive TV event where anyone can be a winner», the fresh format sees studio contestants and home viewers battling for identical prizes.

The series, comprising six episodes, builds towards a nail-biting finale, where one fortunate participant will claim an extraordinary £1 million prize.

Comedy pair Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins present Win Win with People’s Postcode Lottery, whilst radio presenter Jordan North ventures out to surprise viewers in their homes.

The programme’s questions originate from the British public, with ITV having polled the nation to discover their preferences and pet hates, reports Bristol Live.

Forty participants will compete in the studio, whilst home audiences also take part. An array of rewards awaits, from getaways to premium motors, plus tickets to major events.

Each instalment will witness players vying to secure a position on Millionaire’s Row. They can claim a spot by either triumphing in their challenge or exchanging a prize for placement. Home viewers will receive opportunities to earn their place by participating. The concluding episode will witness one Millionaire’s Row player claiming the top prize.

Nevertheless, during Saturday’s debut episode, viewers swiftly flocked to social media to voice concerns about one aspect of the quiz show which sparked confusion.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one viewer queried: «#WinWin So someone at home can win the car even if they get all the questions wrong?» to which another responded: «Annoying as I got all 5 right!»

Meanwhile, a different viewer asked: «#WinWin is there any point answering the questions at home? Anything special happen if you get all 5 right?» while another declared: «Right that’s enough of that. I’m away over to something else… anything else! #WINWIN.»

Another show fan expressed frustration: «Something really annoys me about #WinWin is that when u play along and answer all 5 questions and you’re in the prize draw someone with 5 incorrect answers still has same chance as someone winning who gets them all correct? would be more fun if its just ones with 100% go into draw.»

However, not all viewers shared the same sentiment, with some quick to commend the new show. One person enthused: «Enjoyed #winwin!» while another remarked: «#WinWin good to see Mel and Sue working together again.»

Another viewer added: «Anyone else watching #winwin on @itv tonight with @sueperkins and @mel_giedroyc? As a gameshow fan, I’m really enjoying it so far! Something fun and a bit different – quiz questions yes, but you guessing what you think the public thought. Almost Family Fortunes meets Tenable.»

Win Win continues on ITV.
