Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn will be hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, and she certainly brought Agatha’s chaotic energy during Monday’s (July 8) broadcast.
During her opening monologue, the comedic actress poked fun at the news that Democrats are trying to find a way for President Joe Biden to “move forward” amid growing concerns regarding his age. But Hahn was quick to point out that Donald Trump, who is 78 years old, is not so far off from Biden’s age of 81.
“Democrats in congress are reportedly trying to find the best way for Biden to move forward, which is probably with one of those walkers with the tennis balls on the bottom of it,” she joked.
She added, “The truth is, both candidates are very old. This might be the first presidential race where a slick bathtub could alter the course of history.”
For Hahn, however, any candidate is better than having Trump in the oval office again.
“I would vote for a skeleton over Donald Trump,” she confessed, before dejectedly adding, “In fact, I may literally be voting for a skeleton over Donald Trump.”
The actress also highlighted her upcoming WandaVision spinoff series that is set to premiere on Disney+ this fall, Agatha All Along.
Per the show’s official logline, “The infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road.”
Hahn is the latest celebrity to guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live amid Kimmel’s summer vacation.
In June, Martin Short kicked off the star-studded summer with a week interviewing his Only Murders in the Building co-stars, as well as a bizarre “musical salute” to Trump.
ABC announced that Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Kathryn Hahn, Jeff Goldblum, RuPaul, Lamorne Morris, and Anthony Anderson are also set to guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live this summer. The set dates will be announced at a later time.
Kimmel will reportedly return to the show Labor Day (Sept. 2).
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights on ABC at 11:35/10:35c.
