Join The Telegraph’s ‘How I Spend My Money’ diaries

Whether you are a pensioner enjoying your retirement, a go-getter working in the city, or a parent juggling the family finances, we’re all regularly faced with spending decisions that can have a big impact on our lifestyle and future financial position.

Whether to shop locally or at the big supermarket, or to treat ourselves to that coffee or trip abroad – these are the everyday choices that build up the whole economic puzzle, and hold the key to the question: where does all my money go each month?

This is where Telegraph Money’s ‘How I Spend My Money’ diaries come in. 

The task: keep a diary of everything you spend for one week to share with us, along with a few details about your financial position. 

The pieces are completely anonymous, but can give a valuable insight – both for you, and other readers – about your spending habits.

The series has proved immensely popular – and we are always looking for more participants. 

Previous diarists told The Telegraph that the task forced them to examine their spending in more detail – and some even continued to write spending diaries after taking part. Here are some of our favourite examples:
