A snow plow driver caught on camera racing down the street of a residential neighborhood in Kansas City has left locals terrified of the high-speed

The unidentified driver was captured on a neighbor’s doorbell camera speeding along West 85th Street on the Missouri side of the city in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

The vehicle plowed the street five times in five minutes, with the footage showing it kicking up massive walls of snow with each pass.

Neighbor Frankie Bellucci recorded the high-speed snow removal after hearing plow racing down his street.

‘When I looked out the window I was surprised to see snow plows going at least 40-45 miles per hour,’ Bellucci told FOX4KC.

The street has a 35 mile per hour speed limit.

Snow plow drivers are required to keep a speed limit of 20-25 miles per hour, according to the city.

‘They were doing their job. Were they doing it as well as they could, I don’t know?’ Bellucci said.

‘Were they going too fast? Absolutely they were going too fast!’

The city’s snow removal is overseen by the Public Works Department in a joint effort with the Parks and Recreation, Solid Waste and Kansas City Water departments.

Public Works conducts plow training every October.

During training, officials give drivers experience in driving through busy streets, managing weather conditions, and practice using an internal plow tracking system.

According to officials, Kansas City has approximately 6,000 miles of pavement to plow.

‘When fully staffed, the Public Works, Parks and Recreation and Water Services departments have approximately 200 vehicles on City streets,’ the city’s Snow FAQ said.

‘Of these, about 65 are pickup trucks assigned to residential routes.’

While some residents believe Kansas City is doing a ‘great job‘ plowing the streets, Bellucci has his concerns.

‘Those blades can’t be close to the asphalt. They’ve got to be up some to be going that fast and what happens if there’s an accident?’ Bellucci said.

‘Kansas City prioritizes neighborhood safety and takes community concerns very seriously,’ Kansas City Press Secretary and City Spokeswoman Sherae Honeycutt wrote in an email to FOX4KC.

‘The City investigates all concerns thoroughly and appreciates how much residents care about this community.’

The spokeswoman added that city crews ‘work tirelessly’ through harsh conditions and maintain standards in ‘care and responsibility.’

‘Kansas City appreciates residents’ patience during this difficult winter and their cooperation as the City continues improving its response,’ she added.
