A stunning Lake Tahoe ranch that dwarfs Mark Zuckerberg‘s compound has hit the market for $188 million.
Shakespeare Ranch, a 130-acre property, is fit with 17 residences, a 465-foot deep pier, 14 buoys, a massive indoor pool and large 151-year-old barn.
Often visited by celebrities, politicians, comedians and chefs, the breathtaking ranch could be the most expensive property to sell in Tahoe, taking the spot from casino tycoon Steve Wynn’s former lakefront home that recently sold for $62 million.
On the opposite side of the lake, Zuckerberg has been building a large ranch on more than 10 acres of land, but compared to Shakespeare Ranch, the Facebook‘s CEO’s property is much smaller.
Although the mammoth ranch is up for grabs, according to the listing, elements of the incredible lakefront property are available for purchase separately, starting at $9.95 million for three acres of land, known as Shakespeare Meadows.
‘This is the first time the entire Shakespeare Ranch and its properties has been listed,’ Mike Dunn, Broker and Co-Listing Agent with Chase International, told Mansion Global.

Potential buyers also have the chance to purchase Shakespeare Shores – 1.21 acres of lakefront parcel – for $18 million. The piece of property will soon have a lakeside cabana as well, the listing detailed.
Another lakeside area measuring at 1.54 acres is also up for grabs on the massive compound, offered at $21 million.
Meanwhile, a 4,290 square-foot home, known as Water’s Edge, has been listed for $35 million.
‘You can come and buy different pieces or components to it…. Or you can buy the whole thing,’ Dunn told SF Gate.
The colossal plot of land is nestled in the gated beach and golf community of Glenbrook.
Claudia Thompson, another listing agent for the property, said residents enjoy the privacy of the area and ‘close-knit community.’
‘They value the luxury of its long, sandy, private beaches, meticulously maintained grounds and elegant homes.
‘Adding to its appeal are expansive views of the Lake, the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the iconic Shakespeare Rock monolith, which is the backdrop for this awe-inspiring hamlet,’ Thompson added.

The land is home to a historic barn crafted in 1873, which has since been decked out with a nice commercial kitchen, wine room and game room.
In the past, the barn has hosted multiple philanthropic and charity events, as former President Bush said: ‘They don’t make barns like this in Texas,’ according to the listing.
The property also comes with ample outdoor seating area, perfect for entertaining or relaxing.
A luxurious indoor pool is also located on the property, fit with a stunning fireplace, and an open floor plan for people to venture outside and bask in the sun.
There is also a spacious outdoor hot tub, along with a hidden underground nook used for wine tastings.
The property also comes with an abundance of activities for people to enjoy, including an exercise room, crafting loft, and outdoor fire pit area.
One of the most iconic aspects of the Shakespeare Ranch is its rodeo and stable grounds, home to the annual Glenbrook Rodeo.

The large event, dating back to 1940, features bull riding, ribbon roping and barrel racing, and has headlined well known acts, including Robin Williams, Lionel Richie and Jay Leno, Mansion Global previously reported.
The area is equipped with grazing meadows, animal enclosures, stables with padlocks, bleachers and pens.
‘Here, nature and community come together in perfect harmony, making it a truly special place to embrace the essence of ranch living,’ the listing said.
Other than the wondrous amenities, the ranch has magnificent views of Lake Tahoe, perfect for families to enjoy days on the tree-lined body of water, surrounded by mountains and nature.
The multiple residences all have spacious living areas, as well as nice outdoor spaces with picturesque views of the lake.

Larry and Camille Ruvo are the current owners of the ranch. Larry runs Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits, Nevada’s biggest wholesale distributor and importer of wine, liquor and beer, according to public records reviewed by SF Gate.
The couple also founded Alzheimer research organizations, Lou Ruvo Brain Institute and the Keep Memory Alive Foundation.
It is unclear exactly why they have decided to sell the ranch.
The community is home to both full-time and seasonal residents who often enjoy traveling to nearby San Francisco, Napa Valley and Silicon Valley, according to a press release.
‘In a world where opportunities like this are few and far between, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own one of the most coveted properties in America within Lake Tahoe’s only gated golf and beach community of Glenbrook, Nevada,’ Dunn said.
