Luxury matchmaker reveals surprising places she tells her male clients to meet women

Singles are constantly complaining that they can’t meet anyone on dating apps, and are looking for ways to connect other than the bar scene.

Some are joining running clubs, while less athletic singles are giving speed dating a go.

The single struggle is real, as researchers found that young adults are suffering from ‘social media confusion’ caused by these platforms as well as dating apps, leading to increased temptation to find a new partner.

To find out where matchmakers are sending their clients in the wild, FEMAIL reached out to April Davis of Luma Luxury Matchmaking

April, who’s based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has 20 years of experience setting up couples, tells clients to venture to parks, festivals, cooking classes, and yoga classes to meet their potential partners.

The expert tells her clients to try parks first for a low-key meet and greet, but warns that they’ll need to really consider their approach – although it ‘makes for a great casual introduction.’

She told DailyMail.com this technique works best with a dog since the commonality helps spark conversation.

‘Put yourself out there and start going to a nearby park each day,’ April advised.

April is also a fan of attending local festivals, but that doesn’t mean becoming a Coachella regular.

‘Now, I’m not saying that you need to go out and buy a VIP ticket for every festival in your area – in fact, it’s quite the opposite,’ April explained.

‘Use your own interests as your guide here: if you’re into music or other arts, check out a local festival.’

April also recommends that men frequent cooking classes, saying, ‘Everyone needs to eat so why not?’ especially since ‘women are in the majority of cooking classes so your odds will be better than most places.’

She also controversially endorses yoga classes as a good locale for a meet-cute, even though some women take issue with men in their boutique fitness classes because of their nonstop ‘grunting’ and ‘slurping,’ which can be distracting.

‘Some people may think yoga classes are just for women, but that’s the point,’ April said.

‘If you’re a guy attending a yoga class you’re going to have great odds. Not to mention everyone can benefit from the mobility training, stretching, balance exercises that you’re going to get from yoga classes,’ the matchmaker raved.

But it’s not just about showing up once and calling it a day.

‘You may need to invest in going to these classes regularly in order to build relationships with people and find out who’s single.’

When it comes to approaching women, she tells gentlemen that ‘timing is everything.’

She warns them to not approach ‘when she’s doing something that would be hard for her to stop,’ because ‘that’s when you can be a hassle and she’ll reject you right away.’

April considers dating a numbers game and compares it to a business transaction.

‘Sometimes, it can be helpful to think of your approach like a salesperson would,’ April said.

‘So keep your options open and don’t be afraid to shoot your shot, you’ll find success eventually.’
