MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Malaysia invites Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit the country and is ready to ensure his stay, Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Mohamad Sabu told Sputnik on Tuesday.
«Yes, we are ready [to ensure Putin’s stay]. We invite Putin to visit Malaysia,» Sabu said.
«We bought Sukhoi fighter jets. We are still using them. We will continue to strengthen our cooperation with Russia,» Sabu, who also served as Malaysian defense minister from 2018-2020, said.
In September, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia’s Pacific coast city of Vladivostok and met with Putin on the sidelines of the event.
