Martin Short Taunts Donald Trump Supporters With Bizarre “Musical Salute” On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’: “Our Sweet Orange Baby Jesus”

Martin Short revived his horrific entertainment correspondent persona, Jiminy Glick, to host Thursday’s (June 27) broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Glick announced that, unlike Kimmel and much of “Hollyweird,” he actually likes Donald Trump.

In fact, Glick likes Trump so much, he performed a “musical salute” to the former president, highlighting Trump’s “sexy dancing” and his legal troubles to the tune of “Yankee Doodle.”

“Cranky doodle went to town to call the news a phony, stuck white letters on his hat and called it MAGA-roni,” Glick sang.

He later called out Trump’s “handsy” behavior with women, said that Stormy Daniels “can’t resist” the politician, and defended him against claims that he was involved in the Jan. 6 riot: “It was hardly [an] insurrection!”

Glick later begged Trump, “Cranky doodle make us great, be the one who frees us, you’re our bigly burger king, our sweet orange baby Jesus.” He ended the song on a dramatic note with Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, storming the stage in an eagle suit while waving the American flag.

Before launching into song, Glick voiced his support for the presidential candidate and admitted that he gets “so mad” when Kimmel makes “negative” comments about Trump.

“This man was our president, hello? And he’s about to be our president again, and maybe he’s still our president. I don’t know, I’m just sharing what I saw on my crystal healer’s Facebook page, so,” Glick said.

He continued, “But why does Jimmy Kimmel have to be so one sided? Why not talk about the issues that really matter, like Hilary’s emails, Benghazi, deep state pizza gate, and where is Hunter [Biden]?”

Short somehow stayed in character during the entire broadcast. He also completed both of his celebrity interviews with Nick Kroll and Melissa McCarthy in full costume.

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c.
