Eight deranged men were arrested in Michigan for attempting to have sex with underage girls, police said.
Marvin Estada Sarmiento, 36, Winfredo Osorto Mardaiage, 46, Jordan Henry, 38, Milan Mikho, 25, Kyle Horiski, 22, Kendall Dunbar, 31, Justin Keeler, 33, and Brian McCarrick, 32 were all arrested on Tuesday as part of a GHOST operation, according to Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson.
The operation was created in 2018 in an attempt to fight against human trafficking and nab sexual predators not just in Genesee County, but in locations all across the nation, the sheriff said during the briefing.
Each suspect was arrested in connection to different crimes as Swanson revealed that one of the men was blindly chatting with a member on the task force, thinking it was a child, for five hours.
‘His wife is a teacher and he had a baby at home, and here he is spending five hours of his time trying to exploit a child,’ Swanson added.
He noted that sharing details on these cases ‘is difficult’ because the officers involved have to act as decoys and ‘live through’ disturbing chatter with offenders.
‘But the benefit is, I would much rather see a GHOST operator than see a real victim. We do these cases because we want to tell a story,’ Swanson said.
Sarimento allegedly admitted to police that he tried to receive oral sex from a 15-year-old for $60, according to the sheriff.

Swanson said that the offender also has Title 42 expulsions – the removal of a person by the United States government who was recently in a country where an infection was present.
Sarimento was sent back to Mexico in 2021. It is unclear how he got back into the States.
Maradiage allegedly admitted to meeting a 15-year-old girl for sex for $60.
The suspect, who was living at the Flint Township Motel at the time, tried to complete the act without a condom, the sheriff’s office said.
Henry, from Lapeer, allegedly confessed that he was going to meet a young girl for sex.
He claimed that he didn’t believe the minor was 15 because of her picture, and that instead of paying for sex, he was going to make a donation, police said.
Swanson also revealed that Henry, a welder, is married and the father of two children.
Mikho, a full-time student, allegedly tried to meet up with a 15-year-old girl for $150, the department said.

Meanwhile, Horiski, who is currently on active duty in the U.S. Army, is accused of agreeing to have sex with a 15-year-old.
The 22-year-old was on leave for the holidays from Fort Bragg at the time and allegedly told police that he left early in the morning to look for prostitutes while on his way to Michigan.
Police later found ammunition and bullet-proof vests in his vehicle.
Dunbar allegedly confessed that he knew he was chatting with a 15-year-old girl and chose not to go through with it because he knew it was wrong.
He was on parole at the time of the alleged violation.

Keeler is accused of paying $100 for sex with a young girl, and police said that he was on an app two times in one day to meet another minor for sex.
McCarrick, of Bay City, is accused of grooming a 13-year-old girl through Snapchat after he gave her a phone in order to communicate with her, the sheriff’s office said.
He allegedly helped the child sneak out of her bedroom late at night before taking her to an abandoned building in the area to sexually assault her.
Swanson said that GHOST initially stood for Genesse Human Oppression Strike Team, but over the years, it has evolved into Global Human Oppression Strike Team.
Since starting the operation in May 2018, more than 200 predators have been arrested, Swanson said.
‘Parents have to have these conversations with their children, you have to make them comfortable so they can tell you that this happened and say it made me nervous or made me uncomfortable,’ Swanson added.
