Just days after a Mississippi wife praised her soon-to-be ex-husband amid a seemingly amicable divorce, police found the couple dead in their home in a murder-suicide.

Jennifer Sheffield, 30, called her estranged  husband, Brandon Sheffield, 40, ‘incredible’ on TikTok just days before local police discovered that Brandon had fatally shot her and killed himself.

The couple were first discovered by a concerned family member who reported ‘obvious signs of foul play’ at the home.

Brandon Police arrived at the scene around 7:19 am on Saturday, December 28, only to find the couple each with fatal gunshot wounds.

‘It appeared that Brandon shot his wife before turning the gun on himself,’ Brandon Police Chief Joseph French told The Express.

The disturbing incident comes after the mother-of-two spoke about her ‘incredible’  estranged husband while discussing their divorce in a haunting final TikTok video posted on December 10.

‘So, I’m about to be a newly single mom. I am in the middle of divorce. My husband is being incredible, though, really and truly … we’re working together. Everything’s great,’ she said.

Jennifer shared that she and her ex-husband were having ‘a very civil divorce with our daughter in mind’.

‘Everything is good, it is a very civil divorce with our daughter in mind, and I really appreciate that. However, you know, I’m going to be on my own, single income right now,’ she continued.

‘And he’ll be helping with her, supporting her and I’m really thankful for that and that I’ll not have to worry so much about supporting her. However, I will be on a very limited income with buying a new house and paying a mortgage and all that stuff.’

The relieved mother also noted that she was ‘scared’ as she has ‘never been on my own before.’

‘I’ve never done this before, I’ve never been on my own before. So, if you have any tips, saving money, making money, because I’m a little scared right now,’ Jennifer concluded.

The pair were believed to be at home with their daughter at the time of the harrowing incident, Dark Horse Press reported.

However, no information has been disclosed on the child’s wellbeing.

According to her obituary, Jennifer had two daughters named Gracie and Kylie Sheffield.

A GoFundMe page has since been organized requesting donations in support of the two young girls.

Both, her obituary and the GoFundMe pages list Jennifer and Brandon’s death dates as December 27.

‘He’s never been a violent person that I was ever aware of. I was with her when they met and I’ve always loved him for how he loved her. So it’s definitely hard trying to understand something we will never be able to,’ Jennifer’s friend Faye Lott said of Brandon’s alleged actions.

‘His connections with family and friends were deep, and he was known for being a great brother, uncle, and friend,’ Brandon’s obituary reads.

‘Brandon had a passion for hobbies that brought him joy. He loved working on cars, fishing, playing disc golf, and going on vacations with his family, where laughter and memories were made.’

Jennifer was enrolled in the Masters of Medical Sciences at Mississippi College in the hopes of becoming a doctor at the time of her death, WLBT reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
