A seven-year-old boy has been left traumatized after he was ‘hung’ in a bathroom at his elementary school, according to his parents.
The second-grader at C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School in Waldorf, Maryland, was injured and ended up at the hospital after the November 15 incident.
The boy ended up with his jacket stuck on a hook in a bathroom stall, as reported by WCAX.
But the suspected culprit, a fourth-grader, ran for help after the boy started having trouble breathing, and the principal freed the boy and called 911.
The boy’s mother said on social media that he was found ‘foaming at the mouth and unconscious.’
He was diagnosed with a neck contusion, which is caused by blood trauma to the neck.
The second-grader’s family is questioning how the incident unfolded and whether bullying or racism was involved.
‘My son did tell me that they little boy told him, ‘I’m gonna show you how I did people back in the day,» the mother said.

‘If you look at my son he has marks under his eyes. He still has bruises on his neck from being choked,’ the boy’s parents, who do not want to be identified, told WCAX.
‘He’s traumatized. It’s going to take time. This is not something he’s going to just get over overnight.’
The school district, however, has denied bullying was involved in the incident.
‘Two of our students were reportedly horseplaying in a school bathroom when one student’s jacket got caught on a stall door hook,’ the district said in a statement.
‘The student was not able to free themselves and the other student involved was also not able to help them.
‘This student left the bathroom to seek help from staff and reported the incident to administrators.’

But the boy’s parents say the district’s explanation does not make sense to them.
She added: ‘If you’re horseplaying, how do you get caught on a hook? We need answers. I want answers, and we won’t stop until we get answers.’
The boy will not return to the school, his parents said.
The parents are demanding the school implement polices such as hall monitors to prevent bullying, and that they separate students by age.
‘I want to know why is a fourth grader in the same bathroom as a second grader? Most schools have them divided. I feel this is very unacceptable,’ she said.
The Charles County Public Schools has opened a probe into the incident.
