Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reunite in the trailer for Peacock’s “Paris & Nicole: The Encore,” offering a glimpse at the dynamic duo 20 years after “The Simple Life.”
The three-part special will follow Hilton, 43, and Richie, 43, as they put together an opera performance to their iconic self-dubbed phrase “Sanasa.”
The trailer is narrated by “The Traitors” host Alan Cumming, who calls Hilton and Richie “reality TV icons,” as we see the duo taking on “their next big endeavor.”
Richie tells Paris’ mom, Kathy Hilton, about their opera performance plans — but Kathy doesn’t seem too keen on the idea.
“What they lack in musical acumen and the general knowledge of the arts, they will have to make up elsewhere,” Cumming, 59, says in his narration, as clips play of Richie and Hilton rehearsing.
“And in order to write their magnum opus, they must first revisit their past,” Cumming adds.
Hilton and Richie take a private jet to Arkansas where they visit a local bar as well as old “Simple Life” spots.
“So buckle up for what is sure to be an unforgettable experience,” Cumming says. “That is, if they can pull it off.”
The official logline for the show reads, “Two decades after exploding onto the scene with their pop-culture-defining reality TV debut, BFFs Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie return to the small screen in an all-new format.”
“These reality pioneers are coming back the only way they know how: full of fun, chaos, and epic one-liners!” the show’s description continues. “In this new special, Paris and Nicole bring fans up to speed on their lives and friendship in a way that only true legends can. Get ready to fall back in love with this fearsome twosome as they put on an unforgettable performance.”
“The Simple Life,” which aired on FOX and then E! from 2003 to 2007, followed Hilton and Richie doing low-paying jobs like cleaning rooms, serving fast food and farm work.
The duo confirmed in May that they were reuniting for a new show on Peacock.
That same month, Richie explained on “Good Morning America” that the project is not a reboot of “The Simple Life.”
“It’s been 20 years since Paris and I worked together,” she said. “We wanted to celebrate that. I can’t tell you too much right now, but we’ve worked together to create something very special and exciting. I can’t wait for it to come out.”
All three episodes of “Paris & Nicole: The Encore” release Dec. 12 on Peacock.
