The first season of Leo Woodall‘s thrilling new series Prime Target is coming to an end on Apple TV+.
Prime Target stars Woodall as a mathematician pursuing his postgraduate degree at Cambridge University, where his studies into the patterns and prime numbers land him in the middle of an international scheme spreading across the United States, Baghdad, and the U.K. But when NSA agent Taylah (Quintessa Swindell) — who has been surveilling him and his late advisor, Professor Mallinder — convinces him that he is onto something major with his work, the two pair up and barely escape the forces trying to get their hands on Ed’s research.
You see, Ed’s research goes a bit further than just numbers: There are larger forces at play who believe Ed’s findings could be the key to unlocking defense systems, bank accounts and cybersecurity secrets around the world.
Season 1 has been explosive so far. Ed no longer knows who he can trust after he’s been double crossed and lied to several times by those hoping to steal or repress his work. But it all comes to a head in episode 7, “Prime Finder,” when Ed solves the formula and uncovers the Prime Finder, all before losing the one person he trusted the most: Professor Osborne (Joseph Mydell).
In an exclusive clip shared with Decider, Ed appears to be grappling with the devastating loss of Professor Osborne, who he consistently turned to for advice despite Osborne’s deteriorating health.
In the exclusive clip, Ed and Taylah are sitting in a car as Taylah deletes all of Ed’s work from the server to erase any trace of the work he completed to uncover the Prime Finder.
“Taylah, they can’t know,” a clearly distressed Ed tells Taylah. “Delete every record of the work I did there. They had cameras everywhere.”
After deleting every trace of Ed from the server, she responds, “Everything’s erased, every last trace of what you did. The Prime Finder only exists on this phone now.”
Apple TV+’s official summary for the episode reads, “As Ed and Taylah try to expose the truth, a deadly threat is discovered to be closer than they could have imagined.” Scroll up to check out Decider’s exclusive clip of the Prime Target Season 1 finale.
The Prime Target Season 1 finale airs Wednesday, March 5, on Apple TV+.
