NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia (Sputnik) – Rosatom plans to launch a unique fourth-generation nuclear reactor using fast neutrons by 2030, CEO Alexey Likhachev said on Tuesday.
At the Digital Industry of Russia (CIPR) conference in Nizhny Novgorod, Likhachev presented Rosatom’s projects featuring domestic digital technologies to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
«A unique project is the construction of a fourth-generation nuclear power plant in Seversk [near Tomsk] … In 2030, we will launch a 300-megawatt fast neutron reactor, the first fourth-generation energy complex on the planet,» Likhachev said at a conference in Nizhny Novgorod.
